Advisory engagement

Strategic growth planning

A multi-week advisory engagement that produces a written growth thesis, priority choices, and a working rhythm the owner and managers can follow.

Strategic growth planning

Who it is for

Owner-led firms where growth has become uneven: strong demand in one area, stretched delivery in another, and too many decisions still waiting on the owner. You want a plan you can defend to a board, a bank, or your own team — not another brainstorming day that fades by Friday.

What you receive

  • A written growth thesis covering markets to pursue, markets to leave alone, and the capacity implications of each choice
  • A prioritised 12–24 month action map with owners for each workstream
  • Two to four facilitated sessions with you and selected managers
  • A closing briefing you can reuse with lenders, investors, or family shareholders

What is included

Document review of recent management accounts (high level), customer mix, and existing plans; structured interviews; on-site observation where useful; drafting and revision of the written plan; a practical cadence for check-ins during the engagement.

What is excluded

We do not prepare statutory accounts, tax advice, or legal documents. We do not take interim management roles or run sales campaigns on your behalf. Implementation support after the plan can be scoped separately.

Process

  1. Fit call — confirm the decision, timing, and who needs to be in the room.
  2. Discovery — interviews, site time if needed, and a clear picture of constraints.
  3. Working sessions — test options against cash, people, and owner load.
  4. Written plan — thesis, priorities, and near-term moves.
  5. Handover — briefing for the people who will carry the work.

Preparation

Share management accounts for the last two years (or best available), a customer list by revenue band, and a frank note on what the owner wants from the next three years personally as well as commercially.

Constraints

Engagements need a named owner sponsor with authority to decide. If a sale, refinancing, or dispute is already under solicitor instruction, we may pause until that path is clearer.

Next step

Request a conversation and tell us the decision you need to make. We will reply within two working days with whether this engagement — or a shorter format — is the better fit.
